Of the Seven Essentials, choosing what we THINK about has more influence on our health than any of the other six. We think 24 hours a day. All thought causes a chain reaction. It begins with emotional experience (Love/pleasure or fear), which goes automatically, to our survival memory (or pleasure memory), where brain chemicals are triggered through out the body that either cause acidity (stress) or alkalinity (health).

This is to keep the blood PH alkaline and to keep you alive at the moment.

Franklin Roosevelt said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.“

Here’s a favorite quote to think about, by Albert Einstein … It’s titled “The Genius of Imagination.“

    “Imagination is more important than knowledge … knowledge is limited, but imagination encircles the world. To see with ones own eyes, to feel and judge without succumbing to the suggestive power of the fashion of the day, to be able to express what one has seen and felt in a trim sentence or even in a cunningly wrought word, is that not glorious? When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come close to the conclusion that the gift of imagination has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing absolute knowledge.”

Without a doubt, a single creative thought has the power to change the world. He did it. And we are doing it with our every thought and word.

Therefore … be conscious of your thoughts for “we become what we think about.” – Earl Nightingale

The special gift of creative thinking (emotion) was given exclusively to the human. This means, that we have the power to choose and create our own thoughts by choosing how we FEEL about our experiences.

Emotion! All of the different positive and negative feelings can be reduced to loving or fearful feelings. If your mad, depressed, hopeless, bored, etc, with someone or something, (including yourself) your feeling fear due to an experience associated with that person or thing. Likewise, if your thankful, happy, loving, creative, cheerful, trusting, etc, your feeling love for everything that had to do with that experience.

What to do? Find a way to feel thankful about each and every experience. For instance … I had cancer in 1984. I learned to focus on the good that resulted from this experience. And there are many as I would, most likely, not be writing this to you now if it had not been for that experience. I became THANKFUL! The sooner you do this, the less damage is done.

Become more aware of how you feel about every experience and thought (which is merely a play-back of a previous experience).

    So … here are some suggestions …

  • First, always be with your thoughts and words. Ask yourself. Was that fearful and judgmental?
    Or was it loving and forgiving? You’ll be choosing and creating acidity, which is disease or alkalinity, which is health.
  • Do this with a buddy (someone in the household with whom you’ve agreed to catch each others judgmental comments)
  • Right before you go to sleep review your day’s experiences and change how you feel about the fearful ones by being thankful for that experience, even if only because of what you learned from the experience.
  • Once you’ve become thankful for the experience the last step is to Forgive everyone and everything that was part of that experience, including yourself.

CHECK YOURSELF: To get a rough idea of whether you’re functioning positively or negatively, assign a numerical value according to the scale below. This will indicate the intensity and/or frequency you experience for each of the feelings listed. Then total both lists.
0=Rarely, if ever;
1=Occasionally/not intensely;
2=Often/intensely;
3=Constantly/extremely intensely

Compare your totals of the “positive” and “negative” groups. This will give you an idea whether your attitudes and feelings color your inner personal world with positive or negative messages.
